Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 10:37PM This weekend was a great weekend. I participated in a Sony sponsored case competition at The Neely School of Business @ TCU. 60 MBA students from across the country were selected to apply their sales and marketing knowledge to a product fromSony Electronics USA for the 2nd annual Neeley Sales and Marketing Strategy Case Competition.
The competition selected students from from Darden, Michigan State, Kellogg, Purdue, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Wharton, Missouri, SMU, Howard and Georgia. Each student was assigned to random teams to work on the Sony product. We also had an incredible opportunity to network with high-levelSony execs who will judge their cases, including Jay Vandenbree, President – Sony Consumer Sales.
The weekend got even better when one of my fellow classmates Ernest Talbert took home a 1st place trophy. His team was incredible but most important was Howard's representation at the competition. This event assured many students and executives that Howard University has developed two of the nation's hottest new marketers and will continue to do so in the years to come.
My next post will talk about my team - TEAM 8 and the mini chony. By the way, Team 8 was by far the best team!! Team 8 included students from Kansas, Neeley, Kellogg Georgia, Claremont and Howard.
