This post is inspired by Dat “New” which is actually a song by Kid Cudi, a new upcoming artist that fuses hip hop, rock and alternative. His most recent mixtape was sponsored by 10 Deep, a new clothing brand. This sponsorship was after the huge success of 10 Deep's first sponsorship which was a mixtape by Wale.
Dat New "New" [Dirty] - Kid Cudi
Read on.
As urban wear and hip hop always seem to merge, this shouldn’t be too much of a surprise especially when one of the top urban brands of the moment hooks up with two of the top underground MCs, Wale and later on Kid Cudi. 10 Deep’s first collaboration released Wale’s highly anticipated mix tape entitled “Mix tape About Nothing”. What’s really interesting is that the mix tape and the shirt draw inspiration from the 90’s sitcom Seinfeld, whose only sign of street wear and hip hop seemed to be the endless supply of sneakers that graced Jerry’s feet in each episode. Great mixtape! Well reviewed! 10 Deep obviously got it money worth.

Following up on the success of their first mixtape release for Wale, New York’s 10Deep came back with another mixtape featuring the up and coming artist, Kid Cudi out of Cleveland, Ohio. An again came another successful collaboration for both parties launching this artist into Rolling Stone and many other publications. The web conservation that these two mixtapes spurred were priceless.

Tag Deodorant Spray – Tag Records - P&G Shoutout!
TAG Records is a collaboration between Def Jam Records and TAG Body Spray in an effort to give emerging hip-hop artists an opportunity to show their talents and make history. Seems like this is the start of the new music formula, with music sales hurting record companies are actively looking for ways to minimize cost. So how bout we use the marketing budget of a brand to co-promote our artist and the brand. That’s the plan. But to the brand this is perfect if the artist provide that notoriety and authenticity.
